The Ministry of External Affairs organizes this journey from June to September each year through two separate routes - Lipulekh Pass (Uttarakhand), and Nathu-La Pass (Sikkim). Kailash Mansarovar's Journey (KMY) is known for its religious values and cultural importance. Hundreds of passengers travel on this pilgrimage every year. Besides being important for the Hindus as Lord Shiva's residence, it also holds religious significance for people of Jain and Buddhism. This visit is open to those eligible Indian nationals who are legitimate Indian passport holders and want to go to Kailash Mansarovar for religious purposes. 

The Ministry of External Affairs does not provide any financial assistance or financial assistance to travelers.

Travelers must stay in Delhi for 3 or 4 days prior to travel and medical check-up. The Delhi Government only manages the convenience of sharing food and lodging for the passengers only. If the travelers wish, they can arrange their own food and lodging in Delhi.

Before enrolling online, applicants can do some basic check to ensure their health and fitness status. However, this investigation will not be valid for medical check-up done by DHLI and ITBP in Delhi before the visit.

Consultation: The adverse conditions in this journey, climbing up to 19,500 feet by rugged terrain in extremely bad weather and it can be risky for those who are not fit physically and medically. 

The travel program is provisional and the visits to the included places are subject to local conditions at any time. The Government of India shall not be liable in any manner due to any natural calamity or for any other cause of death or injury of a passenger or its loss or damage to the property. Pilgrims visit this journey completely by the power of their will and aware of expenditure, risk and consequences. On the death of a pilgrim, the government will not have any obligation to bring his body to cremation for bringing India to cremation. Therefore, in the case of death, all pilgrims have to sign a consent form for the last rites of the body in China.

This trip is organized in association with the governments of Uttarakhand, Delhi and Sikkim state and in collaboration with the Indo-Tibetan Border Police (ITBP). Kumaon Mandal Vikas Nigam (KMVN) and Sikkim Tourism Development Corporation (STDC) and their affiliated organizations provide all the help and facilities for every group of travelers in India. The Delhi Heart and Lung Institute (DHLI) perform medical check-up to determine the health status of the applicants for this visit.
